As professional dancers, we know the value of movement.

Strength and stamina are built over time + through practice.

Every technique we teach is centered in choreography – with the idea that repetition and sequenced movements can build strength + improve cognitive function.

While first classes will feel like a lot of information all at once, making each format a part of your routine will make you an expert in following along and picking up material as well as strengthen your full body and improve your stamina.

We want you to feel comfortable and ready to dans starting with your first visit. Below are some tips to get you started.

First class could be rough! We encourage everyone to leave perfection at the door because nailing this choreography comes in time. That’s why we’ve built our studio to be a community hub- a place you enjoy coming back to! Because perfect takes practice – and quite honestly…perfect is boring! Our haustle includes flailing and grooving to your own beat.

And hell – maybe you are Beyonce’s back up dancer. In that case we will be asking you to teach US some moves!!

“I am going to look like a fool and completely embarrass myself.”

Meet your instructors Kels + Jess who will be sure to say something stupid at one point!

Trust us when we say that whoever tries will never look a fool. our formats are challenging so that you don’t get bored – that means that it may be easy to feel lost when learning something new. But our intention is to be more than fitness, we have created an inclusive and welcoming space so that you can feel safe to give us a try. Remember, flailing is not failing.

“I have to be a dancer to take these classes

reality

Come as you are!! While our strength-based classes have “choreography” – that doesn’t mean we are learning dance moves in each class. Choreography is a way to group movements together in sequences so they are easy to follow and repeat. Picking up choreography is a skill to learn - just like math! Every single class is open to every level and we encourage you to come as you are.

“I haven’t taken a group class in years, I won’t be able to keep up.”

You’ll meet a group of people who are each finding their own fit. Every body is at a different place on their fitness journey. It isn’t about keeping up every time - it’s about building your strength and being in a safe space to take it at your own pace. We encourage all levels to give us a try and make us a part of your routine!

“I have nothing to wear.”

reality

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident. Know that we will sweat a lot and be moving big. But what you wear only affects how you feel – not what you are able to do.

Disclaimer: you will need a pair of athletic sneakers that you haven’t worn outside. We don’t allow you to take kickbox in heels…it just won’t work.
